← IS THE MIZ PITCHING? MIL #32

Why This App Exists

A Brewers fan in Paris. A seven-hour time difference. And one pitcher worth losing sleep over.

I'm from Milwaukee. I went to Marquette. And these days, I live in Paris — which is a great place to live and a genuinely terrible place to follow Milwaukee baseball.

A normal Brewers night game can start around 2am here.

And somewhere along the way, I realized that most days I didn't actually need another baseball app. I needed the answer to one question:

IS THE MIZ PITCHING?

If Jacob Misiorowski was on the mound, I was staying up. If he wasn't, I could go to bed like a reasonable adult.

I got tired of checking probable pitchers, schedules and time zones just to figure that out. So I built an app that answers the question immediately:

YES. or NO.

That's also why Paris time lives alongside the game information. It's not a design flourish. It's basically the reason this thing exists.

WHY MIZ?

Because some pitchers make you check the box score the next morning.

Misiorowski makes you set an alarm.

In 2026, he's turned every start into appointment viewing — regularly throwing triple digits, reaching …, and putting together the kind of season that makes staying awake in Paris suddenly seem a little less ridiculous.

THEN THE APP GOT A LITTLE OUT OF HAND

The first version did exactly one thing:

IS THE MIZ PITCHING?

That was supposed to be it.

Then I wanted to know when he pitched next.

Then how hard he threw.

Then I wanted a Miz Day alert.

Then a calendar.

Then start recaps.

Then a velocity tracker.

Then records.

So the tiny YES-or-NO app became a growing record of one ridiculous Brewers season — built from Paris by a Milwaukee baseball fan who apparently doesn't value sleep enough.

It still has one job, though.

Go check if The Miz is pitching. That's the whole point.
